Introduction

Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. – W. Wilson (from We grow by our dreams)

I long yearned for a creative life but, unfortunately, the one thing that got in the way was life!  It is so hard finding a balance between day-to-day living and developing a creative mind-set.  I know I’m not alone – most of us have many responsibilities, whether a full time job, running a home, child care and everything else in between so actually finding time can be immensely problematical, to say the least.  And once you manage to find some precious time to get into a creative flow, you may well discover that there are such an abundance of ideas and techniques to get to grips with that you have yet another balancing act to perfect!

That is why I’ve come up with Dreaming and Doing, which I believe could be useful to anyone who would love to develop a creative attitude, or even those who are already creative but want to move forward. I’ve based it on my creative life – from how I come up with ideas to techniques that I use to great effect.  One caveat here, it is very much a work in progress as I have been mulling it over for a while, but if I mull for much longer it will be all dreaming and absolutely no doing!

I hope it proves informative and helpful.
